Installation Procedure for Driveways:

• Ground will be excavated 18 inches from grade
• Clay will be compacted (fabric membrane installation optional)
• Granular base will be added (15 inch minimum) - 6 inches of 3 inch stone & 9 inches of CA6
• Granular base will then be compacted and will extend past the perimeter of the brick (8-12 inch minimum) for stability and integrity
• Add sand (1 inch maximum)
• Bricks will be laid on sand at given pattern
• Shape of driveway will be cut
• Soldier course will be added
• Edging will be placed around the perimeter of the brick and spikes will be driven in compacted base not dirt
• Joint sand will be generously spread and swept to fill space between bricks
• Brick will be compacted with plate tamper with buffer pad installed to protect brick
• Site will be cleaned up

Installation Procedure for Sidewalks and Patios: Ground will be excavated 12 inches from grade Clay will be compacted and fabric membrane installed Granular base will be added (8 inch minimum), compacted, and will extend past the perimeter of the brick (8 inch minimum) for stability and integrity Add sand (1 inch maximum) Bricks will be laid on sand at given pattern Shape of patio will be cut Soldier course will be added Edging will be placed around the perimeter of the brick and spikes will be driven in compacted base not dirt Joint sand will be generously spread and swept to fill space between bricks Brick will be compacted with plate tamper with buffer pad installed to protect brick Site will be cleaned up
